Hi all,

My son just bought his first vehicle. He picked up a 1999 1500 Extended (if that's what it's called) SLT 4x4 with auto trans for cheap money. Truck seems in ok shape, usual rust and a hole in the muffler but other than that ok.

He has a couple of other issues. One is his odometer is blank. Just doesn't light up. On this year it's supposed to be a blue digital display. Is this a known issue? I have a 2004 Sebring convertible and on that the odometer/prndl display is digital and fits onto the cluster motherboard and can be easily replaced. I'd rather fix this cluster in order to find out the true miles than replace it if possible. Any help would be appreciated. I did do a search with no luck.

 

I'm not sure, but that sounds about right.
A solder point may have come undone. I've been fixing screens at my work and that's that I've seen: solder point comes undone and takes out the entire screen.




Pulling it is labor intensive, but if you have the time......
