steering box leak

Default steering box leak

My steering box is leaking, which im guessing its the power steering fluid.

What do I need to do to fix this! it still drives fine i just dont want to leave it leaking forever..

Pitman arm seal, did mine a few monthes back.

Heres the way I did it if I remember it all:

Take off that big nut off right there that all the fluids on

Then you need to pull the pitman arm off the gearbox

Once you do that theres a snap ring inside there, remove it

Easiest way to get the seal out is to start the car and turn the steering wheel all the way to the right or left, kinda push it as far as it can go, have somebody stand and look at it. The seal will come out and fluid will leak everywhere.

Press the new seal in

Put in the snap ring

Put the pitman arn back on, making sure the grooves are lined up right (it can only go on 1 way)

Put the nut you first took off back on.



Thats about it, make sure to fill up your pump with AFT though
