wont start ????
I have a 1997 dodge ram 2500 4x4 5.9 liter . I changed the spark plugs , spark plug wires , distributor cap and rotor and no my truck will not start . I checked the firing order and everything is correct . The truck ran before changing these parts so I dont understand why it wont start now . I have been at this for 2 days and I did everything I can think of . Please help me because I'm stumped !!!!!!!
Looks like he said it did before he replaced the parts.
Did you, by accident maybe moved the rotor button shaft even a little bit from where it was sitting before you changed it? Moving the shaft too much can throw off the fuel sync in these trucks, as spark timing is PCM-controlled. This can cause a no-start condition. If you did, you may need to have it reset by someone with a good scan-tool.......

Are you getting spark at the plugs or no? Does the engine crank? Got fuel?
Put the rotor on the right way or 180* off? Have all wires routed per TSB and the have the wire from the cap to the coil connected?

Op make sure the cam sensor is in the right place and that you did not pinch any wires when installing the dizzy cap.

Bet he moved the camshaft position sensor when he pulled the rotor off. Make sure that flat sensor under the rotor button is installed correctly and plugged in. There is a notch built into the dizzy base and cap for the wiring to go out the back.
Huh say what, if he loosened of the dizzy body and turned it yes this will cause a fuel sync issue. The shaft for the rotor is keyed/gear locked in place no way to turn it unless the motor is turning.
