Default Fuel pressure

How long after I shut the truck off should I have pressure in the fuel system? I only ask because I did the intake pan replacement the other day and noticed there was no pressure in the rail. There was some fuel but no pressure. The truck was off over night.
Thanks
Steve

it should hold pressure for a while, I'm not sure exactly what the dodge spec is but you could have some leaky fuel injectors that are causing it to leak down. another possiblity is the valve in the pump that is supposed to hold the pressure is not sealing correctly (I forget the name of it). it's supposed to be a 1 way valve that keeps the pressure up so it starts easier. what you can do in the mornings until you get it fixed is to turn the key on until you hear the pump turn off and then turn the off, then on and start, that way you'll be sure to have the correct fuel pressure when you go to start it.

seems to start fine but you can smell gas at first. I kind of suspect a fuel injector but don't want to shell out the bucks for 8 new to find it.

there is an easier way to tell which injector could be leaking. with the motor warm already (op temp) shut it off and let it sit for about 10 minutes, fire it up for a few seconds then yank all the plugs 1 at a time. smell each plug tip for gas. this wouldnt work if the motor is cold since it runs richer until its at operating temp. another thing you could do is to get some BK44 fuel injector cleaner from the dealer and run it in about 10~12 gallons of gas to make it a little more concentrated. SeaFoam also works.
