Hey guys wondering wats the typical amount to narrow the rear end on my 97 1500 5.2! since im going to bagg it. thanks guys any feed back would be great.

Never heard the term 'bagg it' before. Do you mean that you want to narrow the rear end, so that you can install larger wheel tubs in the bed to accomodate larger rear wheels/tires? If so, it really depends on how large (width and height) a wheel/tire you want to install.
