360 valve cover replacement
Okay so work on my 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 5.9l has continued all summer. My most recent repair/replacement was the very rusted oil pan. Thanks to this site it went very well and NO leaks. It did however show a more pronounced leak in my valve cover gasket(it was weepy before). My question is: I see the mopar performance valve covers are as cheap as some of the oem Stamped steel covers. is there any special instructions for installing them? I realize that I have to get the ones that will match the number of holes for both the valve bolts and oil fill, pvc valve ect.
I will be doing this with the plenum repair as well. I checked in the throttle body and found where else my oil was going. Though the truck only has 65,000 miles, it has sat for years on a couple different occasions. Being a northern New York truck which sat in a farm field the engine bay was quite rusted. Its been a fun work of love with replacing so many seals and rusted parts. I have become a pro at drilling and tap n die usage.

As long as you purchase the MOPAR Performance valve covers for the magnum heads, they will fit perfectly. I have a set on my motor and really like them. Just be sure to use a good quality valve cover gasket with them and they will work well.
