Default Loss of power

1994 Dodge Ram 1500 V6 Magnum 3.9L

Feels like my truck isn't pushing out the power it should.

Slow on acceleration & doesnt do hills very well.

Any suggestions? I'm kind of a newbie when it comes to fixing vehicles.

When was the last time your truck had a complete tune up, cap/rotor, plugs, plug wires, air filter ?. How many miles on your truck, have you ever replaced the 02 sensor ?.

It also might help if you pulled the throttle body and gave it a good cleaning.

Not to sure when the last tune up was i know they guy changed the plugs & wires like 3 mths, air filter looks a little bit dirty in my opinion not enough to cause power loss, as for the cap/rotor? Not to sure when it was changed last. The o2 sensor i dont think was ever replaced.

Theres like 157K on the truck. Last oil change 2 1/2 - 3 Mths ago.

Is there anything else that would cause power loss?

Mismatched tire size/rear end gear ratio.
Clogged cat, usually caused by leaking plenum gasket.
Probably the most common causes of power loss if the electrical is in good shape.

Pull the throttle body off, look inside the kegger with an inspection mirror and flashlight and look for oil pooling.
