Default been in shop 3 weeks and they dont know....

Okay I have a 1996 dodge ram 1500 318. Supposively a rebuilt Jeffersons motor and a rebuilt tranny(I know tranny for sure). Well went mudding I couldn't help myself.... buirred it and well 800$ later... new plug wires again. Gutted the catalytic convtor and finally got the broken manifold bolts out of the head... that saying that. It was random miss fire and that got fixed. Now when it is driving it seems to not have a lot of power and after a while sometimes it backfires and it'll loose all power. Now 2 of my valves look brand new shinny. Apperently from gas running through. Not antifreeze. Was told not to worry bout It. Any ideas? I want my truck back :/

It backfires after I go 65 or higher for period and slow down 15+mph... there saying fuel pump or distributor. They told me don't know because it is not throwing any codes etc. So they are trying the whole distributor and go from there...

Lol I'm not a mechanic at all. I'm a carpenter. They are going to change the distributor out in the morning. Hopefully that fixes it. But they weren't sure at all. Would a ****ed up distributor cause that?:icon_worthless

The motor has been replaced before I owned it. Forgot to mention that. Ran fine before I went mudding tho
