So shorties are easier and certainly wouldn't hurt, but are there any serious drawbacks to low end performance or torque with the full length?

I know they are harder to install, but I am mostly concerned about losing towing power and offroad performance.

 

I think it depends on what other mods you have.
For me, I'm hoping to regain a little low end lost by changing the intake manifold.
