Default New and asking for some info...

Hey guys, I've been browsing the forum for quiet some time and finally decieded to sign up and start contributing. I already have a question too.

I have a 96 ram sport and I have been trying to get the 2000-01 sport style bumper for it. I have found the plastic cover but I am wondering what the sport bumper looked like underneath the cover. to clarify I can get the plastic part but I was wondering if it would bolt over the top of my stock bumper and if not how much different the bumper on the sports was and how much trouble I was going to have changing the fog light mounting and other stuff... has any one made this upgrade? do any newer sport owners have any pictures or account of the front of their truck without that body colored plastic covering? any help would be great

thanks

The newer Sport bumper won't fit over your current one. If I remember right, it's a two piece assembly...the outer plastic cover and a metal support structure that it attaches to. Also, your current bumper brackets won't work with it, and if you want it to look right you'll need to get the 99-01 Sport grill too. I'm not sure if you'll be able to use your fog lights or need upgrade those too.

same foggers should work as long as they are the round style. like 2.5 or 3 in diameter but i could be way off

the bumper comes with the grill so that isn't a problem... I wonder how difficult it would be to find one of those support structures...
