warm air blowing out after freeze plug replacement
not sure if this is related. i had a new tranny put in my truck & while it was there the shop found a leaking freeze plug. so that was replaced while it was there. also had a new, bigger trans cooler installed with the new tranny.
now the heat does not blow as hot compared to prior. it's definitely warm, but not hot. it warms the truck, but it takes a while. i didn't want to have my kids in the truck with cold weather rolling around.
anything else i can check? heater core is not leaking (nothing on the interior of the truck). T-stat appears to be working ok. reading ok on the dash (i think). the needle is below 210 (halfway mark). i was going to go get one of those spill proof funnels & run the truck to make sure there are no air pockets in the system.

assuming your heat was fine before the system was opened up---
if the coolant level is low, or has an air lock in the heater core, then the hot coolant doesn't flow and the heat is terrible.
you can feel this in the heater hoses not being at 195.
the easy fix is to park the truck with the front end up high, top off radiator and overflow, leave the radiator cap off and let it run for awhile to purge the air. rev it up a little occasionally for the water pump to purge the heater core. caution - don't get burned and don't remove the radiator cap when hot.
