Help me stop the squeaking!!!
I have a 2001 ram and it squeaks over the slightest bumps and shifts of the cab, such as braking or even getting in and out. I thought it might be my shocks but I'm not so sure anymore. Maybe the bolts or connectors for the control arms. I tried wd-40 and it didn't help. I just can't seem to pinpoint it. Please help. Thank you.
Can you tell us more about the truck, such as mileage, 2WD vs. 4WD, etc.
If you hear squeaks getting out of the truck, check the cab bushings to see if they are in good shape. They are in between the cab and the frame. Have shocks ever been replaced - could be shocks/shock bushings...
Can you have a friend get in and out of the truck to create the squeak(s) while someone else tries to pinpoint where the squeak is actually coming from?

auto-trans linkage bushings. at the base of the firewall, where the vertical shift rod meets the horizontal, there is a Z bar with bushings on the end.
open the drivers door for more leverage and rock the cab. bet it goes squeak squeak squeak. coat the bushings with grease.

its a 2WD, 180K miles. I've only had it a year so I'm not sure if the shocks have ever been re[laced/ Bushings, thats the word I was looking for. That was my second guess after I looked at it more.
