I have a 2000 1500 4x4 with a 5.2 ltr and a five speed manual transmission with 140,000miles. I have noticed while im driving and i let off the gas or when i ingage the clutch after shifting i hear a popping noise. I have checked my u-joints and they seem ok and transmission and transfer case seem tight. Does anyone have any advise on what the popping noise could be.

Check the transmission mount and check the u joints with the engine off in neutral with the wheels blocked and parking brake set.
