Trouble Starting in cold weather
So, the other day I had to make a run to good ol wally world. I went out to start my pickup because I didn't want to walk in weather where the windchill was 45 below. So, when I went to start my pickup, it tried starting immediately, but then died immediately. It was a pattern of 2 second of almost start for every six second of key turned. I tried 3 times. 8 seconds with the key turned and 30 seconds waiting.
The next afternoon it was a heat wave at only 30 below and she started right up for some reason? Why would fifteen degrees Fahrenheit make such a drastic difference?

Most likely not getting fuel due to frozen injectors / pump / lines. Past -30 mine usually has trouble starting as well, even when the block heater is plugged in.
Add a few bottles of gas line anti-freeze to your tank then drive it around a bit to ensure the anti-freeze gets into the pump / fuel lines / injectors. Make sure to pay attention to how much gas the bottle you buy treats and add more accordingly. If you have an extended bed (8ft) your tank is 132L (35 Gallons), 6ft bed is I believe just shy of 100L (24 Gallons)
Also, make sure you never go below 1/4 of a tank when its that cold, or your fuel pump (Which is in the gas tank) can become only partially submerged in the fuel and it can freeze up.

Thanks. The concept of having trouble starting in under 30 below weather has luckily been foreign to me. Yeah, I put in some heat (in the red bottle) and filled her up all the way. She mostly sits because my car gets better mileage, though the lights don't work on that so I mostly sit and vegetate on the couch haha.
