95 cummins turbo boost elbow

i got a 95 2500 cummins an wanted to install a BD Diesel boost elbow, but when i looked at my turbo the line going to the waste gate comes from the intake manifold an injection pump? instead of from the compressor side of the turbo like all the others. Anyone know why this is?
