have a problem shifting into 4x4, the problem is it won't. there is no grinding or any sound it , i just shift it at a stand still 4x4 light does not come on and nothing happens when i start to drive. This is something new cause i never had this problem before.

 

I would start by checking the vacuum connection on the front axle. If it's on there good, inspect the lines to the t case. One of those hard plastic lines on my truck had broken a few years ago and I fixed it with some heat- shrink wrap. It never failed again. If it was a shifter linkage problem or something internal, I would think you would hear or feel it when you shifted.
