Unhappy Changed Plenum, Now Have New Issue

Hey there all. Sorry to say but I need to pick your minds. I had to change my plenum gasket due to regular issues and now I have a new problem.

My truck idles a little rough, but once I get to about 40 my truck starts shaking like a leaf in a hurricane! I didn't have this issue before I changed the gasket, so do any of yall have a clue?

Much thanks in advance!!

98 Dodge Ram 1500 5.9 V8.

How's the spark plugs? Change or do anything with them during the plenum work?

Kinda sounds like a misfire...

Probably need to change the Pre-Cat O2 sensor and see if the cat is clogged

take the pre cat o2 out and see if it runs better. sometimes a vacuum leak can cause this too. but id check the o2 sensor first

Thanks for the quick reply's! I never did anything with the spark plugs, but knowing my luck they will need to be changed so I am going to go ahead and do that. As for the o2 sensor, will running without it hurt anything? (just a test drive) Thanks again!

No it won't hurt a thing. PCM will just operate in warm up mode and run a set air/ fuel mixture. Remove the sensor from the exhaust, and disconnect the wires from the connector so the sensor isnt reading just air...

When you reinstall the sensor please disconnect the negative battery cable.

*Update* Took out the o2 sensor and unplugged it. It still shakes bad, but now it's even worse. Now it will just die when coming to a stop. Also quite hard to start once it dies. Think it's time for new plugs, wires and dis cap??

Thanks again to you all for the advice and help!

I might be wrong but I think you just need to remove the O2 sensor from the pipe and leave it plugged it...

You could pull a few plugs and see how they look, start with #8.

Left it plugged in and no change. Ever have one of those days where you just want to light your truck on fire and watch it melt? Today is that day for me! LOL!
