Default 2001 ram 1500 2wd clunking noise

hi everybody, i've got a 2001 ram 1500 sport 2wd 5.9L. It has started to make this clunking noise in the drivers side front end. it is really noticeable when i let off the accelerator. i feel in the pedals to when im just coasting. any hits would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Mike

I just fixed same thing. Well almost. I had a couple things I found. First I had a loose lower shock mount. Tighten the holy heck outta that thing. Supposed to be at like 105 ft lbs. really really tight. Next, check your sway bar bushings, and end link bushings. Those are cheap and easy to replace. Next have the lady friend turn the wheel while you look and feel the components underneath. If you don't feel or see loose or worn stuff, jack it up and shake the crap out of the tire. I found a bad wheel bearing and bad ball joint. None of the were really horribly bad on mine, but 2 or 3 components a little worn can really add up to a big clunk and a lot of rattle. Mine I felt a little in the pedal, a little in the floor board and heard a lot of rattle.
