Exclamation Bed replacement

A couple months back, I wrecked my truck. So I've been looking around for beds and they are either; out of my price range, too far away, or not in good shape at all. Then the other day I was driving around and saw another 2nd gen, lifted and on like 40s, but its bed was not a dodge bed. It looked like a 90s Chevy stepside bed. I tried to research doing stuff like this, and couldn't find anything. So my question is, is it hard to put a different make truck bed onto mine?

no it would at most call for some drilling but as long as its the same length as the original and off a full sized not a toy truck you can make it work.

there are a few 2nd gens with step sides...

rumor going around is the gm engineer got hired on with chrysler, and copied the chevy step side, with modified dodge side panels.
