So, I'll be purchasing some parts in the next month or so for my Dodge. My specs are in my signature. So here are the lists of parts I'd like opinions on as far as how well they perform. I do know that Bosch is a no go for our trucks.

Now, I know a lot of you have said Monroe shocks quality have sunk down into the hole lately, but, I do sometimes find myself hauling some loads that are over 1/2 ton in weight. With the springs on the shocks, I would think it'd assist in how it handles going over bumps in the road with the weight on the truck.

I will be having the wheel bearing replaced when I do the U-Joint on the passenger side of the truck as well, what's the quality do you think of this bearing?

So, overall, thanks for your time and help. I really want to make my truck happy again where as I do know it has been neglected A LOT throughout it's 176k life with the other two owners.

FYI, I'll list the parts I'm using and have had success with on my truck:


Plugs - Autolite platinum
Ignition Coil - stock OEM
Plug Wires - Taylor 8MM from Summit Racing
Shocks - Rancho RS5000 (front and rear)
Front wheel bearings - generic Chinese made bearings - so far, so good - if they go bad prematurely, I'll install Timkens


If you haven't already done so, be sure to replace the distributor cap and rotor with parts that have copper inserts, since the cap and rotor are time-consuming to replace.


My truck had about 130,000 miles on it when I replaced these items. Unsure what the prior owner did, maintenance-wise.

 

I've done the cap and rotor already. So at least the hard part has been done.

 

I have used rancho shocks on my ram before and I hated them after about 2 weeks. best shock I ever used was a bilstein 5100

 

I talked to a few guys at my work that do a lot of work, they all have had the same Monroe's for about two years now and they love em

 

The Monroe shocks are absolutely amazing. They ride nice and smooth and hold up to their advertised info.
