Default WIT Trans slip-in front band

Im replacing my front band tomorrow and after inspecting the slip-in front band from WIT Trans, it just looks like a regular band that has one side shaved down to slip around the drum... Could that be all it is, regular band with one side shaved down? Weird, does that sound right?

Part number 22022A. Ive searched here and found a couple guys that has used it and found a few more after searching google, but was just trying to make sure thats how its supposed to be.

I've had one in my trans. for a couple years now, and I've noticed the same thing you have from looking at the pics. Mine isn't like that, it was made with that particular piece to slip around the drum rather than a stock band shaved down. They seem to work that way, so what the heck, go with it.
