Followed all the steps from the DIY thread, you guys are saving the public thousands of dollars, thank you first of all.
I just wanted to know what you guys would recommend for cleaning the interior axle tube once everything is out. I have alot of grime, sand, and some mud in the tube. Also wanted to spray down the gears before I reinstall. Would regular parts cleaner do just fine or do you recommend a degrease first?
Also, when removing the CAD everything was very loose (vac lines, main tube, and motor), is this normal? Can I use a parts cleaner on that too cause it almost looks like junk.

Thanks for the replies fellas.
I used de-greaser first and parts cleaner afterwards. It was never mentioned to stay away from the white shims (they look like oversized rubber o-rings) notched at the beginning of the axle tubes visible only when you remove the gear. I removed them thinking they were going to be easy to replace, do not make the same mistake. I used the reverse press idea that somebody on the forum mentioned..it worked very well but I would suggest removing the spring inside the new rt side axle seal before installing cause the pressure will make it fold and it'll be useless afterwards. I used a three foot 7/16 fully threaded section with a 2" washer backed by a 1" washer. They bent on me but still installed, maybe you need to double up on the washers. I used a simple nut to secure the inner portion and duplicated that for the outer part as well, then tightened the nut on the outer side while securing the inner nut so it wouldn't free spin. Also decided to spray paint my diff cover. Should be done with everything by tomorrow.

Right axle shaft wouldn't go in, had to go back into the CAD, forgot to push the inner shaft all the way towards the gear before I sealed everything up. Took it for a test drive in 2wd, it made a few chirps but those went away once I got on the highway. Put it in 4wd in a field by the house, indicator still not turning on so I couldn't be 100% that my 4wd was working but at least I didn't get any noise from the front end. Not sure how to post pictures, I'll be looking up how to fix my indicator issue now.
