Default 97' DodgeRam1500 Tranny fluid check

What is the proper way to check the transmission fluid on my Ram 1500 Automitic transmission. I've been told to check it in park then another said put in neutral gear then check dip stick. Someone help I need the Facts from u fellow ram owners.

Check it in neutral.

Make sure the fluid is hot. Drive at least 10 or 15 minutes then park on a level surface.

With engine/trans at normal operating temp, transmission in N, parking brake set, leaving truck running, check level.
