Default high idle after installing air induction kit

Hi all, I have a problem with my 1998 Ram with the 5.2.

I recently put headers, a new exhaust and a throttle body spacer on it. While I was at it I cleaned the TB and put on new IAC and TPS sensors. It ran fine after all this.

This weekend I put one of those Air Induction kits in it and now it idles high. A weird coincidence? It's running at about 1200 RPM at idle and drops down a little when I put it in gear.
What's going on? I had to make a slight modification to the firewall area to get the kit to fit, so I am sure the linkage is not hanging up. What else could it be? I have unhooked the battery to try to reset the PCM but that didn't help. The TB has been cleaned and like I said the TPS and IAC are new.

Any other ideas??? Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the board.

The throttle body spacer is total junk and does absolutely nothing for our trucks performance or anything else. Can you take a picture of this air induction kit you installed ?.

Thanks, I've been a long time reader but finally signed up.
I only have a few mins, but I just took a photo and I've tried to upload it. Hope it works. The kit is made by Spectre I think. I seemed to notice a boost in HP with the spacer. Gonna fill it up this week so will let you know about MPG. Thanks again for the great site. I'm a long time Dodge guy, many Chargers and Dakota's in my time but this is my first Ram and I love it the last 10 years I've had it..

Take the throttle body spacer off and use it as a paperweight.

Just your basic cold air intake shouldn't effect your idle. It isn't leaking is it? DiD you plug all the vacuum hoses back up

From the picture, I don`t see anything that would change your idle at all. Are you positive that none of the throttle cables are touching any were ?. You might try removing the air intake and then see if the idle goes back to normal. If it does, then the air hat is interfering with the throttle cables some were.

Also check your vacuum lines.

Could it be something so obscure and simple as a battery cable not being tight?

I doubt it, but weirder things have happened.
