Update: I finally caved and took it to a shop. Long story short, the guy found a ground wire that wasn't grounded to anything, and he was able to trace its source to the 02system. I forget what exactly he told me it was causing, but he said he was pretty sure it would fix the problem. I have been driving it every day to see if it would return, nothing yet so we will see. First thing he noticed was how black my tailpipe was. I had noticed before, just figured it to to the failed 02 sensor. Apparently not having a ground was causing it to just dump tons of fuel in at all times. That would explain my sluggishness too, unfortunately that has not improved yet. Ill give it time but I am suspecting a partially clogged cat.

He did do a smoke test to check for leaks and did not find any so that was a relief. He did find two small coolant leaks, fixed one and said the other one would take some time so he would let me do it and save money. Looks to be the bypass hose.
