BUSTED FUEL TANK SENDER _ HELP!!!
I have a '90 dodge W150/2WD/318/AUTO I just got finished doing a ground-up restoration on. It's a beauty, but I started smelling gas, LOTS of gas and getting horrible gas mileage. As it turns out, when we were putting the bed back on, we broke on of the nipples on top of the gas tank. That nipple is part of an assembly that costs over $300 BUCKS! I tried fixing it, only to have it spring a leak within a week. I've been told that the amount of pressure going through the fitting makes it impossible to fix permanantly. I mean I had that thing fixed for sure, and it broke AGAIN! Does anybody know what that ENTIRE ASSEMBLY is called? It's a dealer part, and they said its called a fuel-sender unit, but every place I search to find a sender unit comes up with the sunder unit itself (the float and wiring for the fuel gauge) which is only PART of what I need. I need the lid (the part on TOP of the tank that has the coil spring, feeder tubes, sender unit, wiring). I've tried a few local junk yards, but those trucks are hard to come by. I'd buy an ENTIRE TANK if I could just find one! Please help! AGAIN, I need to know the technical NAME of that assembly so I can know what to type in in the search engine to get the RIGHT part. THANKS!

If you can get a pic of it it would help alot. there is a few part there to choose from. does it look like the one i posted or is it the one that sits right on top of the tank the the fuel pump and the line attach to and held in with a lock ring?

RE: BUSTED FUEL TANK SENDER _ HELP!!!
is it that or is it the whole round unit that sits in the tank and the top sticks out. I would check a local junkyard for one. I have a 92 power ram that I might be scrapping soon but i think you need this quick. and my next favorite option........ EBAY!!!

Try www.car-part.com or www.junkyarddog.com for a used fuel pump asm. Sometimes called a "module" asm. Here's a page out of the parts book. You won't be able to fix the old asm and even if you did you have the risk of a leak and fire.
