Not sure if autozone or Napa out there but they can check your computer for free to see if u have any codes. My truck shows the cel occasionally and shuts off and I can still get the code after. Sounds like a spark plug or maybe a burnt spark plug wire might have not been routed properly.

 

I had a very blunt discussion with the owner of the shop and took the truck back in this morning. They had crossed spark plug wires on #2 and #4. I got a $100 refunded which is better than a kick in the pants but still should have got a t-shirt. I have a guy (friend of a friend) coming over in the morning to check the compression. At this point I don't believe anything that shop told me.
