First fill your truck as full as it will go.

drive about 100 miles or so (as much as you want but the more you go the more exact it will be) then fill it up again keeping track of how many miles you went.

lets say you drove 100 miles and used 12 gallons of gas.......

100 devided by 12 = 8.3333333333333333

so this woudl give one 8.3 MPG

lets say you drive 100 miles on 2.2 gallons of gas

100 devided by 2.2 =45.45 so this would give you 45.45 MPG

I reset my trip meter every time I fill up - just divide the miles by how many gallons it took to fill it. This doesn't work if you don't fill it all the way up however. I fill mine at least once a week. Ex: 300 mile divided by 22.3 gallons = 13.4mpg About what I get.....

I try, and I repeat try, to fill up at a half of tank. Anything below a half makes the pump work harder and you'll be using more gas. With that being said I usually get about 14.5-15.2 mpg. Not too shabby

Good luck!
