My best guess is the 3.92 gears came with the 5.2L engine but I don't know if that is for all cases, due to the fact the 3.55s would be a little tall for the 5.2L. Just a guess though.

We had this discussion here awhile back on here, mine is Sport 4x4 Offroad, but some of the options were added or taken away, like I have no skid plate, you figure it out, bought it used, didnt order it.I can only go off what my buildsheet says but doesnt mean its entirely accurate, but at the RPM im pulling its definately not 4.10, but for the gas mileage im gettin you would think they were 5.14s

Did you buy the truck new? The reason I am asking is because maybe it was wrecked and they replaced the sport bumper to a none sport bumper. They are cheaper than the sport bumpers and if they were paying for it then that might be one reason. Mine is a 2000 4X4 QC NON Sport 5.9L. I have 3.55 gears and a 9.25 axle. As for sitting higher, maybe the previous owner installed an add-a-leaf and spacers of new springs in the front. That is what I did to my truck and I sit about 2 inches higher than a stock truck. You can't really tell what the difference is if you don't know the spacers are not suppose to be there. I purchased black spaces for just that reason.

Your truck is def. not a sport. We established that in the other thread.

BTW, all 4x4s had a skid plate for the transfer case. [8D] And the previous owner(s) could've put blocks in it.
