Thank you for your help. It's greatly appreciated. I've been thinking out all the options, low compression+boost, high compression+higher octane fuel, what's the way to go? Also I've heard a 318 5 speed could be bolted up to a 5.9 with a little work and balancing issues, but the pay off is a 5 speed with smooth as can be idle, any thoughts?

Nv3500 (1500 5.2) and the Nv4500 (2500 gas 5.9) can both be bolted up to the 5.9 just have to use the right flywheel for the 5.9.

Me I am all about high comp, high flow, expensive gas.

So maybe the 5 speed swap, high compression pistons on stock bottom end, if it will hold up, port and polished heads, headers, injectors, intake and tune, gear the rear and blow the tired off, any suggestions

You going to use stock heads or aftermarket? The stock ones tend to crack.

Well I'd like aftermarket high flowing heads, but I was wondering if there are any heads of older would fit that are stronger

Yeah, you can get some 2.02 Clearwater or Odessa heads. They have an intake port size of 2.02, and the stock ones are 1.92, so that is an improvement. They are stronger castings that aren't nearly as prone to breaking as the stock ones.

Seems like the pre-magnum heads won't work. I think I read they bolt on a little differently, but can be adapted.
