Default Girlfriend's ford f-150

she has a 96 ford f-150 and she has a problem. when she is driving and it when its shifting into overdrive i think, when it goes to shift it vibrates. she had a guy replace the fluid and filter, but it still does it. and the overdrive light flashes at times and when that happens sometimes it causes the dash illumination fuse to blow. I noticed itdoes it bad going up and down hills. i had acar that did almost the same thing but didnt blow any fuses. and it was my cat. was clogged. is this the same scenario? any and all help. thanks.

sounds like it could be 2 things. 1. it could driveshaft vibration at certain rpms's. or the worst case her tranny could be on its way out. goodluck

dont think its the driveshaft, and i said a long time ago it was either going out of that cat clogged real bad, so she is savin up for a new tranny. Considering it has like 224k on it i think so.

Hate to tell you, check out a ford page and you will find out that is a common problem for those. I dont think the tranny is going out. Ford had a brain fart I guess you would say, but the term is gear searching. The truck is just to high geared for the over drive. My 94 F150 did it and so did my 95 Bronco. Nothing really wrong with it, just poor design. Try going to 3:73 gears or 4:10's with over drive wont raise your RPM's to badly. Or just drive with it not in overdrive. It finally pissed me off enough that I sold them both and got smart and bought a Dodge.

check out http://www.clubfte.com they can help you out there
