Exhaust for 98 SST
i bought a 1998 ram ss/t it gets bad enough gas milegae, but i would like to put true dual exaust on the truck, i've heard some flowmaster muflers and wasnt to into them, althought i heard a 40 series and it was very nice sounding... is magnaflow good, should i put mufflers on or just do headers back with no catalytic convert and no headers, the truck has a 50hp computer chip in it. its 360v8, around 300hp and like 300torque i think i'm not totaly sure...
personally, i would not go with true dual, especially on a stock engine, although you have a chip. I would go with headers into cat (have to have one in Mass. where i live) then into a flowmaster 40 series single in/dual out. I think either 2 1/2 or 2 1/4. Although i've heard that dual 2 1/2 out, you loose too much torque, but i don't know, cause i have not done exhaust to my truck yet. But i am going to do what i said above to my truck (just don't know 2 1/4 or 2 1/2 yet). Stock on the 360 was 245hp and 335tq.
you wanna go with 2 1/4 cuz u lose low end torque with the bigger pipe. also u dont wanna take the cat. of cuz it will cause ur check engine light to come on. so either get a high flow cat. or i think they offer simulators also.
I'd do a dual exhaust on it for sure... but be selective on your exhaust sizes... read this tech article for more info.

his truck is a standard cab 2x4 with a 360, he should have no problem doing a true dual on that truck. get some o2 sims for the rear o2 sensor and put your o2 sensor in the crossover section (if you decide to have one, I would)
