Head Gasket coolant blockoffs
I am currently building motor for my truck. I'm upgrading to 5.9l V8.
Ready to put the heads back on, but I have a question re: head gasket cooling ports.
I just got set of Fel-Pro Head gaskets. It looks like some of the coolant ports are blocked off between the block and the head. I don't have the old gaskets to compare it to.
Is this correct? Should some of the coolant ways be blocked off with the head gasket??
Or, should I cut additional openings in new gaskets??
They are correct gaskets.
Thanks

That is exactly what I thought!
I took a nice sharp step drill and drill out holes in the gasket in the place where the cooling ports meet.
Just wondering why it was blocked off in the first place.

A warning: once you mount your heads and passed the gasket issue, make sure to add water to the radiator connect your water hoses of course and add pressure. If their is a leak at least your not going to go through this: https://dodgeforum.com/forum/4th-gen...ad-gasket.html
Hope you have an awesome build!!!
