At the time when I cut my cat off I didn'y have a muffler and it made my truck almost twice as loud, but it had a popping sound around 2450 rpms, but I put a Flowmater one chamber on it and it got a little quieter, but still had the popping sound. I would go with the highflow cat if I did things again.
