Default 2001 Dodge Ram grill question

I am looking to put a new grill on my ram but the only problem is I have the sport model and the one I would like to get only fits base model grill brackets. my question is could I remove my sport grill bracket and just bolt on a base model bracket? or is there a way to do it at all? thanks

The sport grille is shaped differently than the non-sport grill because the bumpers are different. If the grille you are looking at has non-sport brackets it may not be for your truck. Post a link to the grille so we can get a better idea of what your looking at.

I realize that the sport grill has a curve on the bottom to fit with the sport bumper, and that a base grill would leave a but of a gap which im ok with, but here is the grill http://www.streetbeatcustoms.com/4CarOption/Custom-Fit-Grilles/Dodge-Ram-4CarOption-Front-Hood-Grille-_-GRZV_RAM9401_BK/821445/

and here is the sport bracket

and the base bracket

thank you

It can be made to work. I'm not sure which bracket you will need. Found this though. Might check it out. http://www.cumminsforum.com/forum/98.../topics/459317

There are these that are cheaper and one says it comes with the mounting bracket.
