My front axel has the vacum posi thing where it is only engaged when you put it in 4x4.. If I change the fluid do I need to use the posi additive in the front or is it differant than the back that has clutches???

If it is not a "limited slip" with clutches like the rear - you don't need the additive. I used Mobil 1 Synthetic 75W 90 in mine.

i use royal purple and it contains the friction modifier already in it. I used 75-140 in the jeep but that is what it calls for with the towing package.

no you dont need it for the front. it is not a posi diff. However i'd recommend red line 75w90 for the front.
