Default Disc Brake Conversion

so i was reading around and i see that people are using the Grand Cherokee disc brakes on the 95-2000s and putting them on ram axles since they both use 9.25 axles but i dont wanna have to run a jeep rotor and caliper. does anyone know if the backing plate from the jeep will allow a ram caliper to bolt to it? i would much rather have the bigger rotor and calipers.

Didn't Dodge start putting disc brakes on the rear of trucks around 2000-2001 model years? FYI, I recently picked up a disc brake Dana 60 that came out of a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 that I plan to install under my '95 Dodge Ram 2500. Wondering if the disc rear brake changes were made to the smaller truck rears around the 2000-2001 model years, too.

grand cherokees didnt use a 9.25. it was either an 8.25, a dana 35, or dana 44a.

I don't think it will work. The 8.25 is much smaller in comparison to the 9.25

Factory disc's where available on the 1974-75 Chrysler Imperial 9 1/4 rear. Good luck finding them. I got a complete set up out of a junk yard years ago.

Get a Dana 60 and gain disc brakes as big as the tiny front 1500 brakes. And load capacity. And gear selection. And locker selection. And durability. And a full floating axle. And parts availability.
