Shocks....Rams have shocks
And yes, they will fit...but they're not gonna help much with handling the weight of the plow. You will have to change the springs to 2500/3500 springs. Or even better yet, install plow package springs. That's the only way you're really going to help the front end.

the shocks are the same for a 4x4 anyway, you didnt specify if yours is a 4x4 but i'd assume it is since you have a plow on it. there is a chart on the web that has all of the different springs, how to id them and how much lift they will give. I think I have a link for it at work, so i'll look tomorrow.
THANKS MAN! yeah its a 4x4,i know nothing about this truck really, im an import guy mainly,
im not really looking for much of a lift, i just want stiffer shocks, and springs on the front, so it doesn't sag with the weight of the plow.

#047 (for passenger side) and #048 (for driver side) are the plow prep springs.
Depending on how much plowing you are going to do, you might want to look into a transmission cooler if the truck doesn't already have one. Also, make sure your alternator is in good working order. A weak alternator makes for some mighty big headaches during plowing season. I know from experience. [:'(]

thats a bunch guys, very good info, i appreciate it alot. i will be doing a fair amount of plowing with it, so i will look into the tranny cooler.
Also, do you guys know of any other common problems the 98 1500, with the 5.2 litre have, so i can have it all looked at, and fixed before the winter season??
