My brother-in-law and I were trying to install apline cd player in his 97 1500. We used a standard wiring harness but could only get the front channels to work. I tested the rear channels on the front speakers to make sure that there was nothing wrong with the player, and they worked fine. So, I pulled the 6x9's out of the door(It's a single cab so they are the rear speakers.) and hooked them directly up to the player and they played fine. I was just curios if there was something I should know to bypass or do different. It is an infinity system, not sure if that has somthing to do with it or not? Any feed back would be great!!

 

i am like a god with eletronics for some reason, but u have me stumped too.when i installed mine i used just a regular harness from wally world and plug it up and hooked it all up. oh by the way on the stock system it had a ground wire that slide onto the top of the radio itself,make sure u cut the clip off of that wire and wire it in with the other grounds.

 

Just did the same thing. The infinity systems has an amp. You have to connect the blue wire from the truck to the amp turn on wire on you decks harness. Hope this helps.
