Mine is a 1997, and the OP's first post stated his was a 1997. His info says 1998 though.

I'll add metal fuel rails to my list of parts to look for next time I'm out.

Sorry for the confusion, I have two trucks. One is 97, the other is 98. Both are plastic rails, cuz i just had pull the motor in the 98 cuz it blew. Mangled a rod cap and rod and fun stuff. But that plenum was blown too!! I was very upset at that, so it hasnt gotten fixed yet. But if i remember correctly, they were plastic as well, just had the quick connect fitting.

Must be a pretty early '98 model... is the actual build date in 98, or 97?
I have a May 98 build, and it has a steel fuel rail.

A 98 yr model may have been built as early as Sept 97, so could conceivably had carryover 97 spec engine parts.
