Default Tail Lights aren't working right

So I have a 98 Ram 1500, and I bought some after market LED tail lights about a month ago. They don't come ready to just plug and play so I had to do some splicing and connecting. The wires don't really have to much indication of what's what other than the ground. I found as of recently that my tail lights only come on when I brake. My regular driving lights aren't working. My fuses appear to be all good. Are they wired wrong or is there something I'm overlooking?

Sounds like they are wired wrong. Grab the appropriate year service manual for your truck from Here. Wiring diagrams are in section 8W.

They should have at least 4 wires, Ground, back up, brake and running lights. You need to match them to the truck wiring. You have to change your flasher unit also or the turn signals won't work correctly.
