New member, and thanks!
Just actually joined the forum today although I've accessed it many times for tech help. Just want to say thanks to everyone here who has posted so much useful info, pics, pictoral how-tos, video links, and more.
Past two days I've been doing a timing gear set R & R. It started out as a water leak that at first I thought was behind the water pump, but soon figured out was actually behind the timing gear cover. Reading here on the forum, I learned this was a common problem. Anyway, my "fix a water leak" turned into R & R a timing gear set (might as well while you're in that deep, right? Especially at 195K).
The forum has been an invaluable how-to (and sometimes MORE importantly, how NOT to) as I worked through this.
My truck is a 2001 Quad Cab 4x4 Off Road that I've had since 2003. Before that I had the exact same truck in a standard cab. Love my Dodge.
Here's a pic in a rare Alabama snow:

Well, I've had the truck since 52k, so unless someone fixed the plenum issue before I got it, it's still doing ok. I should probably fix it while I'm into it, but on the other hand, if it ain't broke... I dunno. May wish I had but I think for now I'll leave well enough alone. Got a few other mods and maintenance in mind for the pretty near future anyway.
