I agree, I had 4.10s on my old '98 second gen and went to 4.56s on my 3rd gen which made me wish I went with 4.56s on the second gen. Huge mechanical advantage for larger tires, hauling and towing. My in town MPGs even actually went up on both trucks.

Now as for the OP, with 3.55s are less than ideal but you'd be fine. Wouldn't even need a receiver hitch for your light popup. Most bumpers with ball inserted are rated at least up to 2000 lbs and 200 tongue weight might even be higher, check the stamping on your bumper...

It's an auto, that's why I have the OD off....LOL

Stock size for a 2500 4x2 Ram, big tires on a 4x2 look poser.

FYI, E rated Michelins, small but not cheap.
