Default Installing shocks on 2nd gen 2WD 1500

Being retired for many years I try to save when possible. I ordered a full set of shocks and they came today. I went out just now to scope out how to install tomorrow. It is almost dark and raining so was hard to see but I did not see any shocks on the front, only coil springs. Is this possible? I'm tempted to run a light out to look or I won't sleep much tonight thinking about it.

The shocks are located inside the coils right? I just had front end work and they recommended shocks but surely the shop would not have removed them...... would they? By the way it was Aamco. I've installed shocks before but not in a long time and things change I'm sure. Can't wait for daylight.

WHEW! I checked just now and they are there located behind the coils. I lay in bed last night thinking of things to say to shop this morning. The OEM shocks are not very big, surprisingly. Now to get started and get a better ride for this old truck.
