Enabling Rolling Lock ?, Tire Cupping ? and Cap ?
Hey all. Been reading up on this forum for alittle while now. I just bought a 98 SLT Quad Cab 4x4 with the 318 in it. I read in the owners manual that the rolling locks and horn chirping when you lock it is disabled from the factory. Is there anyway way to enable it myself, or do I have to take it to the dealer? If I do take it to the dealer, are they going to charge me for it and how much if they do?
Also, I noticed the front tires are cupping on the outside edge. It has the Goodyears on it. Anyone know if this is common? I was going to get an alignment on it, but if someone else has any other info on this, I would appreciate it.
Lastly, I am going to put a cap on the bed. Anyone have any recommendations as to which brand? I will be putting the Bedrug in the back and then a cap, so on trips I can bring my two big dogs and they will be comfortable. Also, would I put the cap directly on the body, or do I need to put bed caps on top of the bed to protect the paint and the body of the bed?
Thanks for any and all help and info.

Rolling locks and horn: you can do yourself, but I'm not for sure on the exact instructions because I bought mine used and it was already programmed that way. I think it is in the owners manual on how to do it.
As for the tires, if you have over say 35,000 miles you may want to check your balljoints. I know this sounds crazy but I know of quite of few people (personally and on the forums and who have had this problem. My balljoints were bad when I bought the truck at 35,000 miles and two of the tires were extemely worn on the edges, bad enough that when taken off of the truck they would not stand upright on a concrete floor. The tires were on the back but I bet money the dealer rotated them so it wouldn't look suspecious. Well they ended up having to fix the balljoints anyhow. Luckily the 3 month dealer warranty fixed it.
As for a topper usually there is self-adhesive foam on a roll that goes between the bed rails and the topper. Anyone who sales you a topper will have the foam. I have no suggestion for a brand though because I have a tonneau cover.
