95 ram 1500 headlight switch burnt
I have been smelling a burning smell in my 95. Today I found the smell coming from the headlight switch. The lights are still working fine. Everything is stock. I have been searching and see people talking about installing a recall relay. Is the main problem with the headlight circuit or the running light circuit? How are most doing the relays? From what I see the mopar relay recall is all behind the dash but only for the running lights. Where should I buy a new switch? Thanks guys

Well I got home from work and pulled the switch out. It burnt the headlight feed wire. I already had a relay for my 7 way trailer plug for the running lights that I never got around to hooking up. I just ran the parking lights through a relay to remove load from the switch. Now I need to get a new switch. Advance auto wanted $76 for one. I found them on ebay for 25 with the pig tail. So im going to order the switch and find a way to run relays on the headlights. Does the headlight wire leaving the switch feed down to the multifunction switch on the steering column?

The recall I believe was for 3500s that have more lights (and even more when hooked up to a trailer).
In my 98 I just took a headlight connector by the passenger side battery and ran my relays off that (high/low on their own).
Battery to fuse 6 to headlight switch to dimmer switch to headlamps.
Looks like the low beam is violet/white coming out of the dimmer switch, high beam is red/orange, and they're 16ga wire (if I'm seeing that right)

I'm on my third headlight switch that i got from autozone(they had the cheapest price) and obviously cheap quality! The contacts in the switch dont make contact and the lights wont come on or stay on. Lesson learned, Don't buy cheap crap!

It's only the 3500s.
Don't they also have the fender marker lights?

Something else I want to do. I have a set of projector lights i want to install. They have separate high and low bulbs. I want high and low on at the same time. I think all I would need is a diode and jump from the high relay trigger wire to the low relay trigger wire and put the diode in so power can only go one way.
