digital gear selector not working

I have a 2nd gen ram 1500. My digital gear selector isn't working. Is this a common issue? How do I fix it?

What year? What engine? 2 or 4 wd? More info helps us help you better. Was it working and all the sudden stopped? Did you buy it that way? etc.
