Default 3-4 accumulator spring be replaced by rod?

probably cant be done on a 99 46re but in 700r4's u can remove the 3-4 accumulator spring and put a rod in its place for firmer shift.can this be done on the 46re?

I want to say yes.
I didn't do it on mine, but I believe that the guy who built it said that was an option.

If you're going in there, make sure you replace the plastic piston with a billet one.
