Rear Drop shackles for 2001?
I'm new to the truck scene so I'm having to learn all new stuff about truck mods. Bear with me.
My main question is regarding shackles for a 2001 Ram 1500. It seems that the main brand (DTW?) only has them available for a 94-2000 - will these not work on my 2001? Also, I've found some 2in. Drop Shackles on Ebay made by Daystar. Are these a good brand and does anyone have them? How easy/hard are these things to install. I appreciate any light you guys can shed and I look forward to learning and modding the Ram.
Does anyone have pics of your truck with the rear shackles?

First off, the rear suspension is all the same from a 94-2001 and possibly all the way to a 2004, I am not quite sure about the new body style. So if you have found a drop shackle for a 2000, it will work on a 2001. The reason companies list stuff like that is because dodge changed the front spindle and brake setup in the 2001 so most suspension companies list them seperately. Second, daystar is a great company and if you have found them cheap on ebay, then go for it. Third, there are plenty of companies that make drop shackles, AIM industries here in AZ makes them and I used to run a set on my 2001 and they worked fine. They were cheaper than everone else. How much were the daystars, I can tell you if they are a good deal. Fourth, putting in the drop shackles is easy. You do one side at a time, undo the bottom bolt first and then raise the axle up so the top of the shackle is above the frame, it makes it easier to slide the bolt out at that point. Now just go in reverse and you are all done, 2" drop in back in about 45 mins, an hour and a half if it is your first time. Let me know if you have anymore questions and I will help you out.
PS I have a 2001 5.9L. I do have some parts for it that I am trying to get rid of, the main one is a JET CHIP that gives you alot of power for the buck. I will post it in the for sale section.
