Default weak horn

Hey guys. I was randomly honking my horn the other day and noticed the tone of it is now weak. It doesn't have the power or tone that it used to, you know that unique dodge horn sound. It almost sounds like something is blocking the sound, or muffling the sound. But there isn't. Any ideas?

Have you looked at it to see if something is wrong? Maybe fell off and is lodged against the fender or something? Critter built a nest inside it? Wire connections are corroded? It's 20 years old, may be just flat worn out.

Yeah everything looks fine and dandy with it. I guess I just thought the horn would either work or not, nothing in the middle.

Are both sounding or just one? You can try rapping it with a screwdriver handle a few times and see if it wakes up. If not it's probably bad.

Probably went bad, mine failed after we had flooding in my area. On my 96 they were mounted right at the bottom front of the drivers side and would get hit with water all the time.
